@xcrswx is a duo formed by Crystabel Efemena Riley, working with drums and drum skins, and saxophonist Seymour Wright. Both artists also use digital and analogue technologies, as well as Android devices, in live performance and in the studio. Their music emerges from the meeting of the physicality of acoustic instruments, ritual, contemporary production tools and digital culture. The result is a layered arrangement of beats, patterns and textures, combining raw sounds with precisely processed material.

The project draws on the artists’ longstanding experience with X-Ray Hex Tet, Maria & The Mirrors, GUO, أحمد [Ahmed] and the XT ensembles, among others. @xcrswx’s releases appear on Feedback Moves: following the 2020 single CALLTIME/HARD OUT and the 2023 split FIXES with Lolina, the duo released the album MOODBOARD in 2025. The record expands their sound into a broader, rawer and more intense form, combining the physical force of live performance with a deliberate use of both advanced and simple studio technologies. It is music for both body and mind, centred on rhythm, tension, care, protest and everyday experience.
