Gustav Thomas is from Bridgend in South Wales. In the 1980s, he co-founded the band Radioactive Sparrow, once described as “the most legendary band you’ve probably never heard of.”

His compositional practice rejects permanence, repetition, and the rehearsal as classically understood. Instead of preparing a fixed form, Edmondez works in a way that blurs the line between life and performance, without subordinating one to the other. To describe his aesthetic, he coined the term “Wild Pop,” applying it to both his solo work and the YEAH YOU project, which he has co-created as Gustav Thomas since 2013. His work is based on transience, spontaneity, and the constant transformation of material, treating the performance not as a reproduction of a predetermined composition, but as a process unfolding in real time.
