Krallice are a New York City band formed in 2007 by Colin Marston and Mick Barr, later joined by bassist and vocalist Nick McMaster and drummer Lev Weinstein. The group have developed an experimental and highly technical form of black metal built on dense, multi-layered guitars, precise tremolo-picked passages and long, complex compositional structures.

Krallice’s early work drew on classic black metal, but over time the band significantly expanded their language to include progressive, dissonant and experimental elements. The complexity of their music also shaped their approach to recording: rather than adopting the lo-fi aesthetic traditionally associated with the genre, they developed a carefully layered production style that preserves the clarity of their dense sonic structures.

Albums including Krallice, Dimensional Bleedthrough, Diotima, Years Past Matter, Ygg Huur and Prelapsarian brought the band widespread critical acclaim. On later releases such as Loüm and Go Be Forgotten, Krallice explored both more dissonant and progressive directions and more consonant, familiar forms, remaining one of the most distinctive projects in contemporary black metal
