Piotr Kaliński is an experienced artist who, in 2026, is embarking on a new and intriguing phase in his long-standing career. Under his own name, he is making his debut with material inspired by the Japanese ambient scene and the minimalism of the 2000s—an approach that is the most personal and stripped-down to its artistic essence in the extensive discography of this Tri-City musician and composer. Kaliński previewed his new ambient material on concert tours in Japan and Iceland, as well as at performances in Poland—including at the famous experimental studio in Katowice, Tonarium. It is precisely this experimental-ambient material, created during his residency in Katowice, that the artist will present during his concert at the Lublin edition of Avant Art.

Music created and co-created (Hatti Vatti, Nanook of the North, Janka, Hinode Tapes) by Piotr Kaliński has appeared on albums in the catalogs of many renowned labels, such as WRWTFWW Records, R&S Records, Denovali, and Instant Classic. In recent years—on albums and on stages around the world—he has collaborated with artists such as Chihei Hatakeyama, Mikołaj Bugajak, Stefan Wesołowski, Olga Anna Markowska, Hiroki Chiba, Daniel Szlajnda, Antonina Car, and Piotr Chęcki. In recent years, he has created global advertising campaigns for brands such as Chanel, Paul Smith, and Calvin Klein, and is a co-composer of the music for the video game Cyberpunk 2077. Since 2009, he has run the jazz-ambient record label Kanu Kanu.
