Lol K are a South London duo formed by artist and musician CJ Calderwood and DJ and producer Junior XL. Their music brings together seemingly distant sonic worlds, drawing on post-classical music, grunge and contemporary club music as well as bass-heavy and experimental approaches to songwriting. At the core of the project is a constant search for connections between different musical languages and for ways of turning them into a coherent, if deliberately heterogeneous, sound world.

On climbing/holding/falling, the duo developed the morphing, bass-heavy sound of their earlier EPs The Breeze and Born Under a Bad One, expanding it through a stronger lyrical presence and a varied instrumental palette that includes flutes, saxophone and warped pianos.

Live, Lol K deliberately resist genre categories: Jersey kicks collide with doom-laden atmospheres, soaring string sections and detuned riffs. Rather than resolving these elements into a single style, the duo use the tension between them as the basis of their own musical language.
