PLF (AU/UK)

Trio consisting of Austrian sound artist and producer Peter Kutin, Austrian drummer Lukas König and Welsh vocalist and improviser Elvin Brandhi. The band has gained a reputation as an “impressive and extraordinary live act” thanks to performances at festivals such as Unsound, AvantArt, Sonic Acts, Kilbi, Elevate, UH and many others.
Peter Kutin is a “mercurial spirit” working with sound across different genres, media and forms. Lukas König is an internationally acclaimed drummer and experimentalist, creating a technique of “stuttering, data moshed, power-house drumming.” Elvin Brandhi (aka FRIDGE) is an improvising lyricist and beat producer, as well as winner of the PRS Oram Award.
Stylistically, PLF combines post-punk with post-digital aesthetics, having a “tendency to push their individual sounds to a threshold where they border on the scream.” Kutin performs on self-built light-feedback machines driving an array of synths, König weaves “intense rhythmic patterns through his percussive-electronic craft,” and Brandhi delivers “feral, visceral vocalizations.” Media describe them as “stroboscopic improvisation: wild at heart and weird on top.”
Their discography includes “EP DEMO” (2020, Opal Tapes), “ParziFoooooooooooL” (2023, Ventil Records) and the upcoming “SCREAMERZ” (2025, Ventil Records). As The Wire Magazine writes: “one of my virtual highlights was the PLF Trio,” while Elevate Festival calls them creators of “the weirdest, most physical pop music in the world.”
