IFS MA is a trio consisting of two producers, Ostrowski and Fischerle, and avant-garde Japanese rapper MA. On their extremely well-received and award-winning debut released on Outlines/Guides, the musicians departed from the footwork formula to transform it in all sorts of ways. MA’s new IFS album is only slightly a continuation of the debut – you will find elaborate rhythmic structures, but also sonoristic-spectral explorations that are closer to contemporary classical music than dance.
