ZEF – The Story of Die Antwoord + discussion II
Directed by Jon Day / 2023 / South Africa / 90 minutes
“ZEF – The Story of Die Antwoord” is as provocative as its subjects: a surprising, bizarre, and masterfully edited documentary. Like the numerous music videos it includes, the film is an exploration of contrasts that sometimes seem difficult to reconcile—loud and quiet, beautiful and ugly, rich and poor, success and failure.
After the screening, we invite you to a discussion about the film with our guests:
Oliwia Warnel – DJ, member of the Laboratorio Tropical collective, and script supervisor. She is a student of Music in Media at the Academy of Music in Łódź. She has been involved with the Avant Art Festival for 5 years and works on social media and event coordination at Spatif in Warsaw.
Stasiu Bryś – By education, a film production manager and sociologist; by profession, a cultural journalist with a focus on music and film. He is the editorial secretary of Going. MORE and has published or continues to publish in *newonce*, *NOIZZ*, *Krytyka Polityczna*, *Ekrany*, *Magazyn Kontakt*, and *Gazeta Magnetofonowa*.

He contributes to *Nowamuzyka.pl*, one of Poland’s oldest independent music websites, where he runs the country’s only series dedicated to artists from South Africa. He also collaborates with the AfryKamera festival in Warsaw, organizing concerts under the “AFreaks” banner.
Adam Dąbrowski – A journalist, music producer, and DJ from Katowice, known by the alias “Attaché”. He is the organizer of the *Diagonal* party series. He holds a Master’s degree in Journalism and Social Communication from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Silesia in Katowice and also studied at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia. Between 2021 and 2023, he worked for *muno.pl*, where he covered zef music and controversies surrounding Die Antwoord. Recently, he has written for *o2.pl*. A rugby enthusiast, he reported South African rugby matches for TVP Sport.
