ZEF – The Story of Die Antwoord + discussion I
Directed by Jon Day / 2023 / South Africa / 90 minutes
“ZEF – The Story of Die Antwoord” is as provocative as its subjects: a surprising, bizarre, and masterfully edited documentary. Like the numerous music videos it includes, the film is an exploration of contrasts that sometimes seem difficult to reconcile—loud and quiet, beautiful and ugly, rich and poor, success and failure.
After the screening, we invite you to a discussion about the film. Our guests will be:
Edyta Karolczyk – a certified psychoanalytic psychotherapist from the Polish Society for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. She works with adults in her private practice. She is the creator and co-organizer of the “Between Words. Psychoanalytic Film Meetings” series, together with Kino Nowe Horyzonty.
Izabela Grad – by education, a researcher of literature and film, by passion, a consumer of culture in all its forms. She spent the last 10 years at the National Forum of Music, co-creating numerous music projects. For over a decade, she has been hosting the “Between Words” series at Kino Nowe Horyzonty, where she discusses films with guests from the Polish Society of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and the audience.
Maciek Przestalski – He has been involved in radio since high school, starting with student radio broadcasts. Today, he curates playlists at Radio RAM and hosts shows like *Fleszlajt* on Fridays and *FutuRAM* on Saturdays. On Sundays, he hosts *Sunday Lunch* and *Culinary Wrocław*, as well as organizes *RAM Session* concerts every last Thursday of the month.
Paweł Klimczak – A journalist, musician, producer, and DJ, who has been exploring the world of music and culture for years, creating rich electronic sounds and sharing uncompromising opinions. He is the author of the podcast *Draka Klimczaka*, a shameless nerd living in a tumultuous yet inseparable relationship with Wrocław.
