RAVE
RAVE, reż. Łukasz Ronduda, Dawid Nickel / 2024 / Polska / 79min.
The film tells the story of techno music and rave culture in Poland. Guiding us through this world are two young ravers from Generation Z: Marysia and Janusz, along with Marcello Zamenhoff, a performer and one of the pioneers of techno in our country. The young protagonists are fascinated by the 1990s fashion trends but also possess a critical awareness of the naivety and utopianism of the demands of the first Polish techno generation. The film juxtaposes the present day with unique archives of Polish events from 30 years ago, representing the conflict between urban, artistic rave culture and rural techno parties associated with the Ekwador club in Manieczki. The protagonists seek answers to a fundamental question: can the younger generation reconcile the class-divided club scene in Poland that has existed since the 1990s?
