Gerda is a duo consisting of Wojciech Bąkowski—an audio-visual artist, creator of drawings, animated films, and LPs—and Jan Piasecki, an eclectic electronic musician and drummer who has been associated for years with the London-based collective Uncanny Valley. The duo’s work, in relation to the name they have adopted, comes from within; from a closed, meticulously nurtured world that is dreamy and fairy-tale-like, reminiscent of ancient Northern legends, yet also ordinary and everyday, like that distinctive cylindrical key in your pocket.
