Artists, DJ, and producers based in Kampala, Uganda. Their genre-blending sets, which traverse both dark and bright moods, use styles such as Gqom, Vogue, and techno as foundations to explore other, more unconventional sounds. Their music draws inspiration from everything, from the quasi-electronic rhythms of northern Uganda to early noise/industrial experiments and live performances. They began by playing at secret queer parties in Kampala, which eventually led to their debut performance at the renowned Nyege Nyege Festival. Authentically Plastic are also the curators of an event called ANTI-MASS, which prioritizes female, queer, and experimental DJs/artists.

In September 2022, Authentically Plastic’s debut album, Raw Space, was released by Hakuna Kulala. Raw Space was recognized as one of the Best Albums of 2022 on BANDCAMP and in CRACK magazine.
