Naaljos Ljom (NOR)

Inspired by folk music, it is a vibrant trend to enjoy preserving tradition, building a connection to culture. One can also enjoy the opportunity to experiment and play with the formula, which once in a while will spawn a musical masterpiece like Naaljos Ljorn. If one were to play the music of this project to a Norwegian time traveller from the first half of the 19th century he would probably have a great time, the tones and rhythms remaining the same. However, Naaljos Ljorn stands far from re-creationist and open-air, it would not be in the style of the two musicians so associated with the world of experimental music and jazz – their compositions are innovative and danceable, combining folklore with contemporary electronic music that performs well in front of a live audience.
