MARINA HERLOP (ESP)
Despite her training in classical music, Catalan artist Marina Herlop composes her pieces ‘guided more by her sense of aesthetics and intuition than by her knowledge of music theory’. The results are beautiful collages, composed of piano notes, crystalline vocals and electronically processed insertions of found sounds that combine to create organic compositions reminiscent of the natural world. Her latest album Pripyat, inspired by the famous Ukrainian town affected by the Chernobyl explosion, is a tribute to nature and its power of rebirth. Marina Herlop is a fresh rising star of alternative music, spread across leading European festivals – her Warsaw performance as part of the Avant Art Festival is the artist’s first concert in Poland and an amazing opportunity for the audience to experience something completely new in the world of music.
