PLANTAE CARNIVORAE: Strycharski & Drazkov (PL)
The collaboration between the two artists began in 2017 with a joint concert featuring the music of Luis Andriessen at FiNa. It was then that the artists decided to collaborate permanently on their own repertoire. What they will present is contemporary music that combines the sensuality and sensibility of electroacoustics with the unusual preparation of the piano, and the intriguing collaboration between the acoustic instrument and its electronic manipulation. The concert combines composed and improvised elements in various intuitive and conducted ways. The duo’s vision is a conceptual yet very direct contemporary music.
The duo’s upcoming album, to be released on Bolt Records, will be about meat and insectivorous plants. This type of plants, unique in the history of evolution, served as a kind of inspiration for Dominik and Barbara’s music, in the context of their work on the colors and structure of compositions and open forms – the duo’s music is somehow “biological”…
