Katsuya Tomita decided to make Saudade, a film about the Kofu hip-hop scene and ethnic problems of contemporary Japan, with the help of his childhood friends, basing the story in his hometown of Kofu, a city to which many Japanese-Brazilians have moved back from Brazil. Saudade was funded with help from the citizens of Kofu. The film is presented with the cooperation of the Ars Independent Festival.
