Matthew Barnes, creating music on the verge of art rock esthetics and post-dubstep with his debut entitled „Dagger Paths” in 2010, has already resolved the doubts of all of those who started to question the creative prowess of postmodernism. The artist is not afraid to use the stylistics of drone, hip-hop, shoegaze, techno, rock, R&B, pop or chillwave: in the Forest Swords tracks there can be find artistic references to the aura evoked by artists such as Massive Attack, King Tubby, Burial and even Ennio Morricone, which without collision, create a colorful, passionate sound landscape.
